Setting Up & Managing eSigning

Pocketlaw’s eSigning simplifies contract signing with secure, compliant, and legally binding digital signatures. Sign contracts seamlessly within Pocketlaw or upload third-party documents for a streamlined workflow.

Enabling eSigning in Pocketlaw

To enable eSigning, follow these steps:

  1. Go to your Account on the left-hand menu.
  2. Select eSigning > Connect.
  3. Choose your preferred eSigning provider:
    • Pocketlaw’s Built-in eSigning (Default provider – requires credits to send documents for signature.)
    • Scrive (Requires a Scrive account and supports BankID authentication for high-security contracts.)
    • DocuSign (Requires a DocuSign account and provides simple email-based eSigning.)
  4. Follow the connection steps to complete the setup.

Once connected, eSigning will be fully integrated into your contract workflow, allowing you to send contracts for legally binding digital signatures.

 


Pocketlaw’s Own eSigning

Pocketlaw’s built-in eSigning ensures secure and legally compliant signing for all jurisdictions. It works with both contracts created in Pocketlaw and externally uploaded documents.

Adding Signing Parties

  • Signing Party – Required to sign the document.
  • Non-Signing Party – Receives a signed PDF copy once the process is complete.
  • Up to 50 signing and non-signing parties can be included per contract.

Authentication Options

When adding signing parties, select the authentication method:

  • Simple Signing – Email-based authentication.
  • One-Time Passwords (OTP) – Added security via SMS verification.
  • Digital ID Verification – Higher security and compliance options:
    • Svenskt BankID (Sweden)
    • Norwegian BankID
    • Smart-ID (Baltic countries)
    • MitID (Denmark)

Tracking & Reminders

  • Monitor signing progress in real time – The eSigning activity tab updates when a signer views or signs the document.
  • Automatic reminders are sent every 6 days (can be disabled in settings).
  • Manual reminders can be sent anytime to speed up the signing process.

Advanced eSigning Settings

Signing Order

  • Ensure contracts are signed in a specific sequence by enabling Signing Order.
  • Rearrange signers within the eSigning interface.

Custom Messages

  • Add a personalized message for signers before sending the contract.
  • Choose between:
    • A group-level message (applies to all signers).
    • Custom messages per signer (individualized instructions).

Real-Time Status Updates

  • Track signing progress as the contract moves through the signing workflow.
  • See who has accessed, viewed, or signed in the eSigning activity tab.

Tip: If attachments should always be included in a contract, set them as default attachments in the contract template.
